The route starts and ends at Tilburg University station. There is ample parking space for your car here. We leave along the track, but soon turn north. We pass the
Hasseltse Kapel , the oldest religious monument in Tilburg, at least from before 1536.
We cross the Wilhelmina Canal, and then our (largely straight) road parallel to the main road to Waalwijk. Through a small tunnel we arrive at the water treatment plant, which we pass on the right-hand side. You will see a dike on your left. This is not located around a polder, but around the former water purification fields.
Our road continues along the edge of the forest, and we pass the village of Loon op Zand. Some time later (on the left you will see the Efteling ) we cross a bridge over the highway and arrive in the woods belonging to the national park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen . Here we pass a war memorial. At a heath area we turn left towards Waalwijk, and follow this cycle path along a fen. Before we get to Waalwijk we turn right, back to the dunes.
A little later we arrive at café-restaurant De Roestelberg . Right in front of you you will see the eponymous first dune of this cycle route. About 300 meters further (in an easterly direction) is the next tavern: brasserie Het Enjoying with a large free playground for the children. Along this tavern we continue in an easterly direction.
Through the woods, along the northern edge of the dunes, we continue for a few kilometers in an easterly direction. In the beginning, the dunes are close by, behind a narrow forest edge. Later on, the distance between the spacious cycle path and the dunes will increase. You pass a picnic area.
At junction 72 we turn right, we are about halfway through the route. We drive through the hamlet of Giersbergen , where you can enjoy something to eat in the De Drie Linden inn . We continue our route in a southerly direction. On both sides of the cycle path you will find dunes and heaths in the woods.
At café-restaurant De Rustende Jager we leave the forest and you can eat or drink something again. Here we turn west, and we drive for some time on the edge of forest and farmland. We pass café-restaurant Bosch en Duin , where there are also two war memorials and a viewpoint over the dunes. A little later we arrive in Loon op Zand . There are also several places to have a drink here.
At junction 37 we head towards Tilburg. We pass the castle of Loon op Zand (can be visited by appointment), and pancake restaurant De Finance . There is also a miniature golf course here. Opposite the KPN radio mast you will see a Maria chapel ; a little later we drive back into the built-up area of Tilburg.
We cross the Wilhelmina Canal again, and in Goirkestraat we pass the Textile Museum , located since 1985 in the former textile factory of Mommers. Less than half a kilometer further you will find the next museum: De Pont . This is a museum for contemporary art. It is named after the lawyer Jan de Pont, from whose estate the museum can be kept open without subsidies. In the summer you can often visit both museums on a combination ticket.
Through the Kwaadeindstraat and the Tongerlose Hoefstraat we now gradually drive back to Tilburg West station. We pass, among other things, the ROC De Rooi Pannen (a former minor seminary ), the Tongerlose or Reitse Hoeve , some old weavers' houses , and the Tilburg Suleymaniya mosque . Finally, we drive through De Bokhamer , one of the oldest existing hamlets from which Tilburg originated.
