Swartbroek and Ell

From Ell we walk along the Tungelroysebeek through the Heijkersbroek nature reserve, a beautifully varied poplar forest with a large fish pond. The Tungelroyse Beek has again become a beautiful meandering stream with some nice bridges. Along the Noodbeek we walk around Swartbroek, past the windmill De Hoop and from there back to the Tungelroysebeek, which we cross via a boardwalk. We follow the stream and pass the Ellerschans. The redoubt was probably built during the 80 years war to protect against plundered soldiers. We walk back to the starting point via the Swartbroekstraat.
