Walking Hook of Holland

This loop walk introduces you to Hoek van Holland and the surrounding nature. First you walk past the Berghaven, built at the end of the nineteenth century. Further on you walk along the boulevard along the Nieuwe Waterweg. On the horizon you see the ports of Rotterdam. On the beach you can get a breath of fresh air and go for a paddle in nice weather. You walk back to the starting point through the Hoekse Bosjes. Here you can chill out at IJssalon Saam op de Hoek, after which you can continue walking. You pass a series of monumental workers' houses from 1927, further on you walk through the Staelduinse Bos. This nature reserve is located on a remnant of former estuary dunes and was established as an estate in the nineteenth century.
