Berghaven

The Berghaven was dug in 1883-1884 for Rijkswaterstaat and pilotage. In 1895 the first steam lifeboat President van Heel came to lie in the harbor. In addition to those three original functions, the Berghaven is now also a staging point for the RET regular service. This Fast Ferry connects Hoek van Holland with several places in the port area of the Maasvlakte.
