Description
The Stroopfabriek is located along the cycle route network between junctions 152 and 136, ideal for combining a visit with a cycle tour through the rolling landscape past the many sights and castles.
Borgloon has no fewer than ten castles that dominate the hilltops or hide in the valleys, all gems that symbolize a rich past.
Rullingen Castle is a water castle from the 17th century. The 13 hectare domain includes the castle with moat, a geometric French garden, a park forest, a valuable standard orchard with hundreds of fruit trees and a real vineyard of 1 hectare.
Hulsberg Castle (1882) was built on a hill 108 meters above sea level. Because of this hillside site, the castle is a striking landmark in the landscape.
The oldest mention of Mariagaarde Castle in Hoepertingen dates back to 1150. In the 17th and 18th centuries it was converted into a beautiful noble mansion.
The Gors-Opleeuw district has no fewer than three beautiful castles: Gors Castle, Opleeuw Castle and Bellevue Castle. It is not without reason that Gors-Opleeuw was nominated in 2008 as one of the most beautiful villages in Flanders.

De Klee Castle is located in a domain that used to belong to the heritage of the Herkenrode Abbey. What now remains is a mansion from 1907 with a 17th-century corner tower and a square farm.
