Cycling along the Maas between Wanssum and Arcen is beautiful. First you drive to the village of Blitterswijck, after which you cycle through the 't Sohr nature reserve. In Broekhuizen you can take a look at the fifteenth-century St. Nicholas Church. Further on you cross the Maas to Arcen, a beautiful town. Here you pass the ruins of the fifteenth-century Schanstoren and Arcen Castle. Then you drive through Maasduinen National Park. This is the longest river dune belt in the Netherlands. You drive many kilometers here through a varied landscape of forests, heaths and fens. In between you will visit Tuindorp, the town that was designed on the drawing board as a real garden village in the 1950s. The route ends at Café van Wieren: time for a cup of coffee and something tasty!
