“Wandering tour” through the Green Heart with the kids

Description
Families with children regularly visit Avifauna and I receive more and more questions about child-friendly cycling routes. Because what could be more wonderful than being outside with the children? Enjoy cycling, picnicking and play or visit a sight in between. That's why this short discovery tour through the Green Heart towards Boskoop.
You leave Alphen aan den Rijn and cycle via the Compierekade towards junction 34. This is the Groene Hart at its finest! You cycle along the base of the greenery, past many nurseries. After junction 35 you cycle via the Dijkgraafweg and the Rietveld to the Burgemeester ten Heuvelhofweg. To continue the cycle route, turn left, but I recommend that you make a short stop and turn right. At the end (house no. 83) is Theetuin't Woutje with a nice playground for the children. A lovely spot, you can go there from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Continue along the Burgemeester Heuvelhofweg towards junction 36. Deviate from the route here for a visit to"Klein Giethoorn\\\". To do this, cycle over the bridge and turn left onto the Kerkvaartpad. At the end is Klein Giethoorn. It is nice to relax here on the terrace by the water. You can enjoy a view of the beautiful reed field. It is also possible to rent a rowing boat.

You cycle back via the Oostvaarderspad and pass the Spookverlaat. For a stopover, turn right here towards Jeu de Boer in Hazerswoude-Dorp (junction 5, also a tourist transfer point). This recreational farm is located close to two nature reserves, Spookverlaat and Rietveld. There is a shop with regional products and you can enjoy a cup of coffee, drink or ice cream on the rural terrace. Various activities are organized such as farmer's golf.
