Route Vechtdal, Den Ham and Eerde Castle

Your route starts at Camping Huttopia de Roos. It is wonderful cycling between Den Ham and Ommen. Around the Overijsselse Vecht you drive through a landscape of flowery meadows, hedgerows and quiet forests. Buurtschap Junne still consists largely of old thatched Saxon farms and ash trees. On the other side of the Vecht you will discover Stegeren. In the Earlier Achterbroek you can see Kasteel Eerde, which is surrounded by a moat. From the stone arch bridge you have a nice view of the building. In Boswachterij Ommen you drive right through the vast greenery. Den Ham is a nice village with a historic center. Here you will find an ancient green where the village church and the old tower are worth seeing. The Middendorpshuis houses the Exhibition House, the Oudheidkamer and the VVV.
