Description

Your route starts at RG Tweewielers. In Wiesel, the employees of the nearby Paleis Het Loo used to live. Every year, the Orange Festival is celebrated here in the first weekend of September to commemorate Queen Wilhelmina's birthday. It is a beautifully preserved hamlet. At the small village of Niersen, you will cycle a bit into the forests of the Veluwe. The sixteenth-century Kasteel de Cannenburgh was built on the remains of an earlier, probably fourteenth-century castle. In 1543, the then ruin came into the hands of the famous warlord Maarten van Rossum. He ordered the castle to be rebuilt, but died before it was completed. A little further on, you will see Daams\\\' mill, which was raised by 4.90 meters in 2012 to catch enough wind again.
