Walking tour of Het Laer near Ommen

Your walk starts at Camping De Koeksebelt. From here you can walk straight to the beautiful Het Laer estate, right across the road. Het Laer used to be a castle; the surrounding canals and the wooded area in which the castle came into its own are still visible. The castle has had many different owners over the years. After a number of sieges, renovations and takeovers, Landgoed Het Laer has grown into a beautifully restored manor. You can now go there for parties, dinners, brunches and other gatherings. Diagonally opposite the estate you will find a sheepfold where the sheep stay at night. During the day, the flock often walks freely on the heath near the sheepfold. A beautiful sight!
