Description

We start at the neo-Gothic St. Servatius church with a tower from the 16th century. We soon leave the buildings behind us and reach the Ravelse Regional Forests (810 hectares), where a large part of the walk is located. The forest, created at the beginning of the 20th century, consists of a mixture of coniferous and deciduous trees, with here and there a fen and heath plots. There are benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the forest.
Immediately after junction 97 we reach Kesseven, one of the larger fens. A little further away is the Klotgoor, created by the extraction of peat. At junction 87 we leave the forest and walk along quiet roads through rural Ravels. On the way back to the starting point we pass the mill'De Nachtegaal der Maatvennen\\\' from around 1869. Just before the end point we discover the statue"Ravelse Pier\\\", the nickname of the inhabitants of Ravels.
