Description

From Castricum you cycle to Uitgeest. Here you see the Dog and the Cat, second beautiful windmills. At the Uitgeestermeer you will pass the Tweede Broekermolen, a polder mill built in 1631. The next historical sights on your route are Fort Kijk and Fort aan den Ham. In Assendelft you drive through the longest Dorpsstraat in the Netherlands. It has a length of 7.2 kilometers. You will see, among other things, the Sint-Odulphus Church from 1888. On the other side of the North Sea Canal, you cycle through the Spaarnwoude recreation area. It is wonderfully quiet cycling through the woods and along ancient peat meadow areas. Just before Velsen-Zuid you drive through the park that surrounds Huis Velserbeek, originally a sixteenth-century homestead. In Beverwijk you cycle past Landgoed Akerendam. The route ends at Snackbistro de Toren.
