Tour of Castricum, Assendelft and Heemskerk

From Castricum you cycle to Uitgeest. Here you see the Dog and the Cat, second beautiful windmills. At the Uitgeestermeer you will pass the Tweede Broekermolen, a polder mill built in 1631. The next historic sights on your route are Fort Kijk and Fort aan den Ham. In Assendelft you drive through the longest Dorpsstraat in the Netherlands. It has a length of 7.2 kilometers. You will see, among other things, the St. Odulphus Church from 1888. On the other side of the North Sea Canal you cycle through the Spaarnwoude recreational area. It is wonderfully peaceful here to cycle through the forests and along ancient peat meadow areas. Just before Velsen-Zuid you drive through the park that surrounds Huis Velserbeek, an originally sixteenth-century homestead. In Beverwijk you cycle past the Akerendam Estate. The route ends at Snackbistro de Toren.
