Description
From your starting point, cross the Berkel to Rekken. Here you will see beautiful churches and old farms. From here you will make a beautiful bike ride to the Buurserzand and the Haakbergerveen. The juniper bush is rare and is protected in the Netherlands. The growth of this plant makes the Buurserzand special, but extra special is that they are more than 150 years old here! The area has a moist soil. The heathlands, where cattle stroll around, are surrounded by beautiful forests. Just before the German border you will discover the Witte Veen, this heath and forest area used to be a popular border crossing for smugglers.
