Description
Heinoomsvaart area Heinoomsvaart is centrally located in the Venen and is therefore an ideal starting point to explore the region. Heinoomsvaart connects Wilnis with the Woerdense Verlaat in the sailing route to Nieuwkoop and Woerden. In addition to a starting point for routes, the recreation area offers various sunbathing areas and moorings.
De Venen is located in the Groene Hart and covers the northwestern part of the province of Utrecht. This peat meadow area has a typical Dutch character with characteristic, elongated plots. These were created in the 12th century by draining marshes. De Venen is also a water-rich area because peat has been dug up in various places. The special landscape offers beautiful panoramas with remains of a rich history, such as forts, mills, old ribbon villages, farms with orchards and country estates.
Woerden Leave
The village of Woerdense Verlaat owes its name to the "verlaat", the lock between the Grecht and the Kromme Mijdrecht.
Height Profile
Tourist Interchange Points (TOP 's) are the perfect places to start a bike ride or a walk. In these places you can park your car for free on the edge of beautiful areas. From here you can enjoy cycling and walking via the nodes. The TOP 's are easy to find by following the signs along the roads. You can recognize the TOP by a green steel culm of 5.5 meters high.
