This route takes you through the Anna Paulownapolder, one of the last polders that was constructed with private money. The salty soil was not really suitable for agriculture, but it was for the flower bulb cultivation that was introduced here in 1915. This region now consists of around 5000 hectares of horticultural area; this is also the largest contiguous bulb area in the world. The harbour in Van Ewijcksluis offers a beautiful view over the Amstelmeer, further on you will pass the Leonide from 2002. The building looks like a traditional sawmill, but has never had a grinding function: it is a residential house. Oudesluis was once a harbour for VOC ships, but due to the construction of the Anna Paulownapolder it was cut off from the Zuiderzee in 1845. The route ends at Eetcafe De Witte Brug.
