Enjoy the surroundings of Winterswijk

Around Winterswijk you will experience a beautiful cycling day in the Winterswijk National Landscape. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here along the fields, farmlands and streams. There are also several small-scale nature reserves along your route, such as the Bekendelle swamp forest. Just past junction 23 is the Meenkmolen, a corn mill from 1851. Further on is the Korenburgerveen, a nature reserve consisting of heathland, untouched grasslands and swamp forest. In Meddo you pass the Johannes de Doperkerk from 1864, at the recreational lake't Hilgelo you see the Sevinkmolen from 1868. At junction 11 you briefly touch the border with Germany, further on you pass a quarry. Finally you pass Brinkheurne, which once formed an important link in the smuggling between Winterswijk and the German Oeding. The route ends with a delicious meal, drink and an overnight stay at the Oldschool Hotel.
