Around Winterswijk you will experience a beautiful cycling day in the Winterswijk National Landscape. It is wonderfully peaceful here to cycle along the fields, fields and streams. There are also some small-scale nature reserves on your route, such as the Bekendelle swamp forest. Just past junction 23 is the Meenkmolen, a flour mill from 1851. Further on is the Korenburgerveen, a nature reserve consisting of heathland, pristine grasslands and swamp forest. In Meddo you pass the John the Baptist Church from 1864, at the recreational lake't Hilgelo you see the Sevinkmolen from 1868. At junction 11 you briefly touch the border with Germany, further on you pass a stone quarry. Finally, you pass through Brinkheurne, which once formed an important link in smuggling between Winterswijk and Oeding in Germany. The route ends with a meal at LEV. by Mike.
