Art roads in the Vechtdal: Zwolle-Hardenberg

By bike through the museum: Kunstwegen is a cycle route that connects the Lower Saxony Ohne (Bentheim) with the Dutch Zwolle. The 160 kilometer long route with 75 works of art is the largest open-air museum in Europe. The Kunstwegen route can be cycled in both directions and is clearly signposted. Perhaps 160 km is a bit much to cycle in one go, which is why the route is divided into different stages. The Anningahof estate is the starting point for Kunstwegen in the Netherlands, where you will also find regularly changing exhibitions. Dozens of statues are displayed inside, but also outside in the landscaped garden. The route ends at Boomstamrestaurant Het Heemse in Hardenberg, a cozy place to end your day out with dinner.
