Description
Get to know the beauty of the Noordoost-Twente National Park, one of the twenty National Landscapes of the Netherlands. Here you will find a special agricultural landscape full of hedgerows, marsh forests, grasslands and moraines. You will also find beautiful estates here that are in complete harmony with the surrounding nature.
Special landscapes
The first part of this route takes you through Weerselo, Oldenzaal and Denekamp. Enjoy the Essen and Kempen landscape that originated in the early Middle Ages along the way. The many wooded banks give the area a small-scale and cozy atmosphere, while you feel very small between the large farmlands and extensive forests in this area. In addition to the beautiful landscape, you will also find fascinating sights that delight the eye in this region. Just outside Denekamp, for example, you will find the Singraven estate. On this estate you will find a historic manor house and an old water mill that are worth admiring.

Singraven estate
The grounds of the Singraven estate are dominated by Huis Singraven and the Singraven windmill. The first house was built on this estate as early as 1415. Between 1651 and 1653 this house was replaced by a new building, where a stair tower was added in 1661. Newer owners also renovated the house several times. In this way, the current Huis Singraven was created.
