Description
Get to know the beauty of the Northeast Twente National Park, one of the twenty National Landscapes of the Netherlands. Here you will find a special agricultural landscape full of hedgerows, swamp forests, grasslands and moraines. You will also find beautiful estates here that are completely in harmony with the nature around them.
Special landscapes
The first part of this route takes you through Weerselo, Oldenzaal and Denekamp. Along the way, enjoy the Essen and Kempen landscape that originated in the early Middle Ages. The many hedgerows give the area a small-scale and cozy atmosphere, while the large arable lands and vast forests in this area make you feel very small. In addition to the beautiful landscape, you will also find fascinating sights that delight the eye in this region. Just outside Denekamp you will find the Singraven estate, for example. On this estate you will find a historic manor and an old water mill that are worth admiring.

Singraven estate
The grounds of the Singraven estate are dominated by Huis Singraven and the Singraven mill. The first house was built on this estate as early as 1415. Between 1651 and 1653 this house was replaced by a new building, to which a stair tower was added in 1661. Newer owners also renovated the house several times. This is how the current Singraven House came into being.
