Cycling along the German border

In the Twente coulisselandschap time sometimes seems to have stood still. There are many traditional farms and other monuments to see. Nature is also a great thing. Just below the village of Glanerbrug you come through the Aamsveen, a cross-border nature reserve that was created after the excavation of the raised bog. You will find wet swamp forests, heathland and poor grassland: a special combination where a great diversity of animals feels at home. You then cycle through Germany on car-free roads, you come through Gronau, among other things. Back in the Netherlands you cycle along the Oelemars, a former sand extraction area. In Losser you can admire the detached Martinustoren from 1500. Further on you come through the Haagse Bos, a hidden gem of Twente, and you pass the Lonnekermolen. The route ends at Sprakel eten & drinken.
