Description
The border area of Limburg and North Brabant is great for cycling. You will find plenty of forests and places rich in cultural history. Along the Maas you can see the famous Maasheggen.
Radiopuddles
You drive through the Zwartwater, a nature reserve of mainly conifers. Further on you will pass through the Helderse Duinen. You cycle through Overloon, after which you greet the next coniferous forest: the Hondsbergen. Past Stevensbeek you drive past the Radioplassen, a recreational area that takes its name from a former radio receiving station that received signals from the Dutch East Indies here from 1919 to 1924.
Venray
On the edge of Boxmeer you will pass Boxmeer Castle Museum. The historic part of this castle can only be visited at set times via a guided tour. Along the Maas you have a beautiful view of the rippling water. You will also find the unique Maasheggen landscape here with its centuries-old oaks and hawthorns. You will find plenty of history in the center of Venray. Here you can admire the Gothic Grote Kerk, which was built in the fifteenth century.
