Tour highlights of Denekamp and Ootmarsum

Your route starts at Restaurant Hotel Wyllandrie near the lovely Ootmarsum. Close to the border with Germany, the Twente landscape is beautiful. Denekamp is one of the largest villages in the region. Around the fifteenth century it was still a small village with barely a hundred houses located on the only village street. People were religious and went to the Saint Nicholas Church, which was built in the thirteenth century from Bentheim sandstone. The town of Noord Deurningen is still quite famous for Monastery Noord Deurningen. This is an old manor and farm, which have probably existed since the beginning of the thirteenth century. The Singraven estate and its associated watermill are also worth a visit. Back you cycle straight through Ootmarsum.
