On the road through the forests of Twente

Your route starts at Eetcafe Plexat/Steaks & Bites. In the area around Enschede and Oldenzaal you can cycle through a park-like landscape with forests, winding streams, meadows, fields and much more. Hills give the landscape an extra dimension here. Discover it yourself with this bike ride. In this rural area you can see many traditional farms and mills, such as the Lonnekermolen. This mill from 1851 played a more important role in the Second World War. During that period, the miller illegally made large quantities of flour with which many families were kept alive. Your route also passes a train station, the Eschmarke, so even though it is a rural round you can still take the train to pick up the trip along the way!
