This route takes you from Valkenburg to Maastricht. Get off in Gronsveld at De Kwizzenjer! Then you cycle along the banks of the Maas and over the Maasboulevard. You will notice why Maastricht is known as one of the most pleasant cities in the Netherlands when you cycle here. The busy centre of Maastricht forms a beautiful contrast with the peace along the Maas just outside the city. The many old buildings and the remains of the city wall create a wonderfully characteristic historical atmosphere. You pass the Bisschopsmolen, a watermill of medieval origin. A little further on you can get off for the Treasury of the Basilica of Our Lady. The iconic Sint Servaasbrug takes you back to the right bank of the Maas. You cycle back via small villages.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
