This route takes you from Valkenburg to Maastricht. Get off at De Kwizzenjer in Gronsveld! Then you cycle along the banks of the Maas and along the Maasboulevard. You will immediately notice why Maastricht is known as one of the nicest cities in the Netherlands when you cycle here. The busy center of Maastricht forms a nice contrast with the tranquility along the Maas just outside the city. The many old buildings and the remains of the city wall create a wonderfully characteristic historical atmosphere. You pass the Bisschopsmolen, an originally medieval water mill. A little further on you can get off at the Treasury of Our Lady's Basilica. The iconic Sint Servaas Bridge takes you back to the right bank of the Maas. You cycle back through small villages.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
