With this route you explore the banks of the Lek River and the polders of the Alblasserwaard and Vijfheerenlanden. A trip full of peace, history and beautiful views.
Historic Ameide
After driving a few kilometers through the polders, you enter Noordeloos. In this picturesque village you can still experience the atmosphere of times gone by. In Goudriaan you will pass Museum Ianchelevici. Here you can admire a collection of sculptures by the Romanian-Belgian artist. Also switch back in Ameide to enjoy the historic buildings. This beautiful town on the Lek is one of the oldest cities in Holland. Wow!
Old Vianen
In the old town of Vianen you drive past the Hofpoort, the only remnant of the former Batestein castle that burned down in 1696. A little later you cycle into the Vianan polders and floodplains, a vast nature reserve of forests and meadows. What peace you will find here! Just before Meerkerk you cycle past two old polder mills: the Hoekmolen and Molen de Bonk.
