Description

Your cycling route starts at Van Beek Tweewielers. The route takes you through the French Kampheide, a nature reserve with drifting sands, heathland, and forests. Bussum is rich in beautiful buildings and churches, and Naarden is even one of the best-preserved fortified towns in Europe. The fortress has six bastions, a double rampart, and a double moat. The Dutch Fortress Museum is a nice stop. Fort Ronduit is a fortification dating from 1875 that is part of the New Dutch Waterline. You'll also cycle along the historic village green (Brink) of Muiderberg. Visit the medieval Muiderslot Castle! Muiden also boasts many beautiful monumental buildings, including the Muizenfort. In Weesp, you can admire the Tower Fort on the Ossenmarkt. Cycling along the winding Vecht River is wonderful, with farms and Fort Uitermeer nearby.
