Beautiful Frisian history lessons have been preserved in picturesque villages with their own character. Take Franeker, star of the eleven cities, for example. The town dates back to the year 800! Dozens of national monuments give Franeker a unique atmosphere. Take for example the Korendragershuisje, which was built for corn carriers and sack carriers in 1634. It has since sunk a bit crooked. The town hall of Franeker was built in 1591, in the Frisian Renaissance style. You will also pass the beautiful Cammingahuis. The east facade is a remnant of a stins and dates from 1400. The eleven-city town of Harlingen is also worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere at your leisure. Sea, sailing, cultural heritage, but also nice shops and restaurants: Harlingen is a vibrant city! Tzjom and Achlum give a beautiful impression of typical Frisian villages. A pleasantly varied route.
