Cycling through North and South Laren

The route starts at Paviljoen Appelbergen. Enjoy a coffee and something tasty here in the middle of nature, before driving to the bird-rich Oostpolder. It is nice and quiet to cycle in this flat peat area. Ideal to shake off the daily routine. In Noordlaren in Groningen you will see some characteristic old farms and buildings. The Bartholomew's Church originally dates from the thirteenth century. Midlaren is located in Drenthe. You will see old farm houses and two dolmens: D3 and D4. Further on you pass through the protected villagescape of Zuidlaren. You pass Huis Laarwoud, the current manor dating from the seventeenth century. The church with the medieval ship is located on the Brink. You then drive on the border of two nature reserves: the Noordlaarderbos and the Westerlanden.
