The low-lying Waterland is a beautiful and unique region. You will find an open peat meadow landscape with historic towns such as Ransdorp and Monnickendam. Discover this beautiful landscape by bike.
Ancient villages
The route starts on the edge of Zuiderwoude, a picturesque town full of historical sights. A little later you drive into the quiet polder where you can enjoy beautiful views. It is easy to make miles here. Just past junction 44 you can make a stopover on the cozy terrace of Hotel Café de Zwaan. Take a rest and then get back on your bike to set course for Broek in Waterland. From here you can also follow route 363991 if you want to explore the area further.
Beautiful Monnickendam
You then cycle on to Monnickendam. In the old city center of Monnickendam you stumble, so to speak, over the monumental buildings. A wonderful place to get off and enjoy the unique historical atmosphere, for example at the Speeltoren. A museum has been housed in the tower since 1981.
Historic Zuiderwoude
At the end of the route you will return to Zuiderwoude. This village is mainly known for the church that can be found in the middle of the village. This church was built in 1877 as a successor to earlier churches that were destroyed by enemy attacks and fires. Take a look at this church or one of the other historic buildings in the village.
