The route is a great journey of discovery and offers something for everyone. You cycle along the oldest polder in the Netherlands, the Arkemheen, where the lapwing, oystercatcher, black-tailed godwit, ruff, snipe and redshank breed. You start in Hoevelaken, from here you cycle to the centuries-old Arkemheen polder. After a stopover in Nijkerk you cycle past the windmill"De Hoop\\\". The mill grinds on one pair of millstones, which are used to grind barley, corn and wheat for animal feed. Koetshuis Stoutenburg should not be missed if you want to know more about the nature and cultural history of the Gelderse Valley. A castle was built here in 1259 and was later demolished. Now you will find a country house from the early 19th century.
