From Nijkerk to the Speulderbos

This ride over the heath and through the woods starts at the Golden Tulip Ampt of Nijkerk. It is the ideal place to prepare your ride with a nice cup of coffee or to round it off with a drink or a tasty meal. The highest point on the Ermelosche Heide is the Paalberg, a small moraine from the Ice Age. You cycle through the vast greenery of the Speulderbos. It is one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands, formed during an ice age. In Boeschoten, part of the Speulderbos, you cycle past a sheepfold. When you see the shepherd with his sheep moving through the forest and heath, it is as if time has stood still here. At the end point you can enjoy a snack and drink after this beautiful tour.
