Description
Around the Drenthe Hoogeveen you will make a varied cycling tour. You start at the edge of the village of Hollandscheveld. The peat extraction history can be seen in the straight layout of roads and plots. It is quiet cycling here, while you look out over the meadows. You cycle through Zuidwolde, north of this village you can see a few historic hall house farms in Ten Arlo. Further on you cycle through Echten, you pass a former manor house and even more characteristic Drenthe farms. You cycle a bit through Oude Kene, a restored stream valley. A little later you discover the characteristic atmosphere of the town of Hoogeveen. Drenthe has so much to offer!
