Description
This route takes you past historic castles, impressive fortresses and through picturesque landscapes. You start your route from Farm Camping Doornenbal. Castle Loenersloot is your first imposing sight. Built in 1250 and only open to the public since 2012 after a major restoration. The tour continues along the Vinkeveense lakes. Along wetlands, picturesque villages such as Nigtevecht and surrounding meadows. This is the Netherlands at its best. The next fort awaits you in Nederhorst. This is where the originally medieval castle of Nederhorst den Berg is located. You then cycle on a beautiful cycle path across the Loosdrechtse Plassen. You are surrounded by water on both sides. The tour continues through Oud- and Nieuw-Loosdrecht. After almost fifty kilometers you will reach Farm Camping Doornenbal again.
