This varied cycling route contains all the ingredients for a wonderful day out. First you cycle to the picturesque village of Cothen. Here you can take a look at the centuries-old Rhijnestein Castle. Robber knight Jan van Rhijnestein once held several goldsmiths from Paris hostage here. The Oog in't Zeil windmill dates from 1869. It is beautiful to cycle through the vast Kromme Rijnstreek. You pass through the hamlet of't Goy, further on you make a shortcut through the green Houten. Via Werkhoven you cycle towards the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The characteristic residential towers that stand around Langbroek initially served as a defence, but later as a status symbol. You also pass Amerongen Castle. Cycling along the dike you have beautiful views over the Lek and the fields. The route ends at Landwinkel and Schenkerij De Kersenhut.
