Limburg church villages
The starting point of this cycling tour is in Doenrade. This village originated along the old Roman trade route that ran from Germany to Maastricht long ago. You will make a short trip across the border to the German village of Hillensberg, which lies at the foot of the Schlouner Berg. Then you will quickly cycle back into the Netherlands. Via various villages such as Puth, Spaubeek, Schinnen and Oirsbeek you will cycle back to Doenrade. On the edge of Oirsbeek you will cycle past the Janssenmolen from 1877.
