Along the coast of West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen

This route takes you along the beautiful coastal strip of West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Inland you can get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the peace and quiet.

Lighthouse Breskens
After you have loosened your legs, you pass through Breskens. You pass Mobile Bicycle Service, a mobile workshop that repairs your broken bicycle on-site in the West Zeeland Flanders region. Further on you will pass the Nieuwe Sluis: a lighthouse from 1867. As you cycle through the dunes, you will have a beautiful view of the sea. When the weather is nice you can take a dip and enjoy the sound of the surf.

Charming Cadzand
Cadzand is the first village you encounter in the polder. Here you will see, among other things, the beautiful centuries-old Maria Church. Retranchement is a remnant of a fortification from 1604. You can still see some earthen walls here. The Retranchement is a flour mill from 1818. Grain was also ground in the Zuidzandse Molen, this building dates from 1874. Further on you pass through the Nieuwerkerkse Kreek, a beautiful nature reserve. The route ends just above Schoondijke.
