You start this route in the historic heart of the Hanseatic city of Deventer. Cycling through the old streets you will see many monumental buildings. You will cycle a bit through the beautiful Rijsterborgherpark, which was designed by Leonard Springer at the end of the nineteenth century. Further on you will cycle on quiet roads through the coulisse landscape. You will also cycle through the Wechelerveld. This former military training ground is now a beautiful nature reserve with conifers and heathland. It is quiet cycling along the Overijssels Kanaal, while you look out over the water and the waving reeds. The Oxerhof estate belonged to the Duke of Gelre until 1650, you can still see an eighteenth-century farm there. At Gorssel you cross the IJssel, further on you will pass the Bolswerkmolen, a sawmill from 1863.
