Tour of Oldemarkt, Holtingerveld and Drenthe dolmens

This beautiful and varied route starts at the TOP on the edge of the Woldberg. You drive along the Steenwijk-Ossenzijl canal, where you look out over the rippling water and the unspoilt natural beauty of the Weerribben. You can get off at Landwinkel and Camping Waterbuffelfarm to stock up on something tasty for a picnic along the way. You drive through the Frisian Blesdijk, further on you pass through Willemsoord: one of the former mining colonies that were founded in 1820 by the Society of Benevolence. You drive through the old De Eese Estate where you enjoy a mix of forests, stately avenues and small-scale agricultural land. In Wapserveen you see some hall farms, in the Holtingerveld you drive between the conifers and over the heath. You also pass two dolmens.
