Tour of Oldemarkt, Holtingerveld and Drenthe dolmens

This beautiful and varied route starts at the TOP on the edge of the Woldberg. You'll ride along the Steenwijk-Ossenzijl canal, overlooking the rippling water and the unspoiled natural beauty of the Weerribben. You'll pass through Blesdijk in Friesland, and further on, you'll pass Willemsoord: one of the former reclamation colonies founded in 1820 by the Maatschappij der Weldadigheid (Society of Benevolence). You'll cycle through the old De Eese estate, where you'll enjoy a mix of woodland, stately avenues, and small-scale farmland. In Wapserveen, you'll see several hall-house farms, and in the Holtingerveld, you'll ride among conifers and across the heathland. You'll also pass two dolmens.
