Round Oldemarkt, Holtingerveld and Drenthe dolmens

This beautiful and varied route starts at the TOP on the edge of the Woldberg. You drive along the Steenwijk-Ossenzijl canal, where you look out over the rippling water and the unspoiled natural beauty of the Weerribben. At Landwinkel and Camping Waterbuffelfarm you can get off to stock up on something tasty for a picnic on the way. You drive through the Frisian Blesdijk, further on you pass Willemsoord: one of the former mining colonies that were founded in 1820 by the Society of Welfare. You drive through the old Landgoed De Eese where you enjoy a mix of forest, stately avenues and small-scale farmland. In Wapserveen you see some hall house farms, in the Holtingerveld you drive between the conifers and over the heath. You also pass two dolmens.
