Sheepfold route to Dalfsen

This route takes you along the Archemerberg. It is part of a lateral moraine that was created in the last ice age. The Archemerberg and Lemelerberg together form a large nature reserve with mainly forest and heathland. The route also goes through the beautiful Ommen. The city is first mentioned in 1133. Ommen obtained city rights in 1248. You will come across a lot of sheepfolds on your route. The Laer used to be a castle; the surrounding canals and the wooded area in which the castle came into its own are still visible. The castle has known many different owners. After a number of sieges, renovations and acquisitions, Landgoed Het Laer has grown into a beautifully restored manor house. Take a break along the way at Recreatiebedrijf De Huttert!
