Along windmills and towns between IJssel and Lek

Soon after the start you will pass the first windmill:'t Slot, a flour mill in Gouda. This beautiful round stone mill was used as a flour mill and was built in 1832.'t Slot replaced an earlier mill that was destroyed by a fire in 1831, but it is already the third mill on this site. Further on you cycle past windmill Bonrepas. This seesaw mill was used as a polder mill. The Bonrepas was built around 1600. The mill is now fully operational. Have a cup of coffee at Het Witte Hof in Haastrecht before you continue to Schoonhoven. Sconhouen, which later became a corruption of Schoonhoven, was first mentioned in 1257. From the seventeenth century, the city became known as'Silver City\\\'. You cycle back through the beautiful village of Moordrecht.
