Your route starts at Eetcafe De Holtenploeg. You drive to Benneveld via Havezate De Klencke. In Benneveld you can see some Saxon farms on the Brink. Zweeloo and the surrounding area are also worth a visit: Zweeloo served as a source of inspiration for artists such as Vincent van Gogh at the end of the nineteenth century. You then cycle through the Sleenerzand, a large forest area that was planted in the 1930s. Be sure to get off at Hunebed D49 - Papeloos Kerk, one of the most famous dolmens in the Netherlands! Back you pass through Sleen, another nice place to soak up the atmosphere. There is a beautiful old church on the Brink, but also the former town hall from 1938, which was built in neo-Renaissance style. Both worth it!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
