Tour of Ootmarsum, Denekamp and Oldenzaal

Today you can enjoy the special nature of the Lutterzand, which was designated a geological monument in 2007. The ancient river Dinkel meanders through the area. The idyllic stream keeps the natural environment alive, as it moves up to half a meter every year, squeezing through the sandy bottom. For example, sand drifts, heathlands and forests with birch and oak are intersected by the Dinkel. The sand swallow nests on steep banks along the stream, but the kingfisher and the large yellow wagtail also whistle the highest song in the Lutterzand. The beautiful Singraven estate in Denekamp is also enchanting. Also take a moment to visit the Oude Hengel mill, built in 1872 as a tower mill.
