Tour of Oldenzaal, Lutterzand and De Lutte

Your route starts at Pannenkoekhoes De Stroper. You cycle through a park-like landscape, where trees and well-maintained paths adorn each other and where hills give the landscape an extra dimension. The highest point of the province of Overijssel is located nearby: the Tankenberg, part of a moraine, 85 meters above NAP. In the Lutterzand, nature suddenly changes drastically. Sand drifts, moors and forests with birch and oak that are intersected by the Dinkel. This ancient river winds its way through the Lutterzand and moves about half a meter every year, pushing through the sand. The steep banks along the stream serve as nesting places for the sand martin. Due to the special composition of the Lutterzand, the area was designated as a geological monument in 2007.
