Tour Rotte & Kop van Zuid

Your cycling route starts at Zwaan Bikes Rotterdam, where you can immediately rent a bicycle. You cross through the northern part of the city to the pleasantly winding Rotte, the peat river to which Rotterdam owes its name. Cycling along this meandering river is wonderfully peaceful. The Nesserdijk then leads you out of the city - here you immediately have a real village feeling. You cross the Maas with the Van Brienenoord Bridge and cycle on the other side of the water into the center again, to the Kop van Zuid. The ports here were developed by the infamous businessman Lodewijk Pincoffs. You cycle across the iconic Erasmus Bridge to the Maritime District where you cycle along the Leuvehaven. A century ago, the sea fish market here was the center of the Rotterdam fish trade.
