With this route you explore the surroundings of Meerkerk. A lovely area to go for a nice walk.
Meerkerk is located on the border of the Alblasserwaard and Vijfheerenlanden and originated on the peat stream Zederik. This was widened and deepened to Zederikkanaal, followed in 1880 by a further extension to Merwedekanaal. Meerkerk is a popular place for water recreationists: in the summer months the Merwedekanaal is full of passers-by. Just outside the village is Molen De Bonk, one of the most beautiful see-saw water mills in South Holland.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
