Description
Get out and explore the South Holland island of Voorne. You start at TOP Brielle, where you can easily park your car and continue by bike. On the way you will pass De Hoofdwacht on the Markt in Brielle. The former main guard was designed in Louis XVI style, a wonderful location to step off and have a bite to eat and drink. Afterwards you will explore the fortified town of Brielle. That it is a fortified city can be seen from the walls, ramparts, bastions and other defenses that surround the city. These were supposed to protect the civilian population against external attacks. You will also pass Rockanje, which is located on the west side of Voorne. It is surrounded by thickly overgrown dunes. A wonderful route for cycling!
