Get to know the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park, the Ruins of Brederode in Santpoort-Zuid, the village of Spaarndam, the Forts north and south of Spaarndam and the versatile recreational area Spaarnwoude. You cycle through various beautiful landscapes. Along the way you will encounter fallow deer and roe deer, as well as Scottish Highlanders, Shetland ponies and Koniks. These large grazers are outside all year round and build up sufficient fat reserves to get through the winter period. Duin & Kruidberg Estate, with its English-style country house and garden, is located in the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. The country house houses a hotel and restaurant.

The Spaarnwoude recreational area is ideal for beautiful walks and cycling trips. The Ruins of Brederode refer to the remains of the Castle of the Lords of Brederode. This castle was built in the second half of the 13th century. The donjon (residential tower) can be climbed for a beautiful view. The Forts north and south of Spaarndam are part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam, a defense line of 135 km around Amsterdam that was constructed between 1880 and 1914. There are catering establishments located in Fort Bezuiden. Fort Benoorden is occasionally open for guided tours.
