Description

Your cycle route soon takes you to Terheijden, on the river Mark. Here you will find the Kleine Schans: a Spanish army camp from 1590. You continue to the Vrachelse Heide, a former heathland and drifting sand area that is now mainly planted with Scots pine. In the beautiful Breda you will discover the Breda Castle from 1353. The House of Brecht is another historical picture: it dates from the fourteenth century. A little later you cycle into Princenhage, a former village with beautiful monuments in the Dreef and at the cozy Haagsemarkt. The former town hall dates from 1792. The last part you cycle right past the Liesbos, the largest old summer oak forest in the Netherlands.
