Tour Geertruidenberg, Raamsdonksveer and Oosterhout

This route starts on the edge of the fortified town of Geertruidenberg. Take a walk here on the picturesque Market Square with its many old merchant houses! On the other side of the leafy banks of the river De Donge lies the lovely Raamsdonksveer. Here you see the Onmoede, a flour mill from 1890. Via the pleasant Oosterhout you cycle to the Vrachelse Heide, with the Schans at the Pannenhuis. From 1672 onwards the English, French and Germans fought against the Republic. Republican soldiers withdrew behind the Schans near the Pannenhuis. Near the harbor you will find the Biesbosch Drimmelen Visitor Center of Staatsbosbeheer, where you can learn everything about the Biesbosch.
