Description
The starting point of this route is Herberg Welgelegen, a house with character, located in a beautiful building on the Oude Rijn in Valkenburg. With 8 luxury hotel rooms and a restaurant on the water, the place to relax outdoors. Herberg Welgelegen, the former town hall of Valkenburg, has a rich history. The building was built in 1895 as a home for the director of one of the pan factories that could be found along the Oude Rijn. Dunes, forest and beach are within cycling distance of the inn. What a wonderful area to explore on foot! During this route you will discover the area around Valkenburg and Rijnsburg. You will also walk a bit through the Dorpsweide. In the spring you can enjoy the beautiful bulb fields in the area.
