Krimpenerwaard, South Holland, The Netherlands
Hiking route: 1257222
Provided by: Groots Genieten
You immediately get on the ferry to the other side, where you can already see the church tower of Groot-Ammers. A nice circuit on either side of the Lek, straight through the polders and past the small town of Bergstoep, leads you back to your starting point for a tasty lunch. The second half of the route takes you around the Buitenlanden, a rugged nature reserve where reeds were once extracted. Baskets were woven from these stems, including for the former salmon industry in Ammerstol. Then you walk over the beautiful Lekdijk back into the village, while looking out over the rippling water on the right. This walk is typically Dutch!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
